I have a few questions. I recently applied for an assistant principal position in Europe. I was hoping someone might be able to provide some information for my questions below:
1. how long does it typically take to hear back about whether or not I've been referred?
2. What are my chances as a civilian getting an interview?
3. It is an "excepted" position, is that better for my chances?
4. Isn't it late for this position to be posted? If I'm not mistaken, school has already started.

1. From me experience anywhere from 4-14 days 2. Not sure, but it at least appears that they likely look through internal applicants prior to looking at stateside applicants. Again, that is just my perception. 3. No idea. 4. DODEA has no problem shifting admin whenever they need, it appears the school calendar has no influence on such matters.

For the few Assistant Principal positions I was referred to it took 10 days for some and 1 month for the others to hear that I was referred. When I wasn't referred it took anywhere from a few days to a few weeks after the job closed.
