I'm looking to add Library Specialist to my certifications because I am 4 classes away. I don't have experience as a librarian, but it would put me at 11 certs. My question is, would having more certs make me more hireable as a librarian or would they hire someone who has the experience as one but doesn't have a lot of certs?

TravelTeacherMommy Oh...but just to clarify, I'm not saying don't get the cert. I'm just saying if you do get the cert, don't quit searching for you target "day job."

haha Basically agree. If they need a full time Information Specialist, they would likely hire an experienced and qualified Information Specialist, unless, they need that person to teach other areas, or think that they might in the future.

HelpOthers apparently, the more certs you have, the better, whether they hire you as an information specialist or not.
