Hello everyone, quick question about old references: the application says I only need up to 4 max, and all of my references have been completed since I first submitted them back in 2018. I am now teaching in a new state; should I remove the references and have my current principal/vice principal submit a reference as well? Also, say I sign my contract with my current employer to teach the following school year, but then I get an interview or a tentative offer from a DoDEA principal. Should I refuse or take the position even though I've signed intent to teach statements and my contract for the following school year? I don't want to be caught in a sticky situation, and if updated references will help me secure a position then I'm perfectly open to it. I just wanted some clarity on how I should approach this hypothetical situation. Thanks !

haha There is usually an email that comes out around this time of year telling you to renew and review your application for the upcoming year. Hiring starts anytime after that with the lion's share of offers usually happening between March/April and August (although some hiring goes on throughout the year).
