Had a question about sponsorship and how that affects dependents who are not spouses or children; I plan on including my mother in my orders. I understand that I would have to prove how much of her expenses I cover and so on, but was a bit confused on a few details:

1. How do I communicate to DoDEA that my mother is my dependent? Is this during the tentative/firm offer phase? What sort of evidence would I need to submit? Just want to make sure she is included in my orders.

2. How does sponsorship work with DoDEA? I'm assuming it's dependent on where I'm hired, but do they typically reach out to you, or are you given a point of contact? Is it the base offering sponsorship or is it a DoDEA teacher/Principal/etc?

Thanks again for any input, this board is so helpful for DoDEA-hopefuls like me. :)
