Now, I interviewed on Friday, and he said I did a good job and that he was going to make a decision by the end of the day. He told me that if selected, HR would contact me with a tentative offer. He probably asked for more since they didn't complete the forms. For mine 3 were contacted by the principal in an email with questions since they didn't complete the original form from my application. All 3 answered his email. Reach out to your references and ask! I was hired a week after the interview.

Strange. My original three did complete the forms, but 2 did it online through the system HR uses. Right when I applied in January, one got a reference email immediately. I'm not sure what the official requirements/policies and procedures are these days. I know anecdotally (in the past), many people seem to have been hired without 5 references.
