Perhaps just venting, but if there is a reason please enlighten me. I think it is bad form to be contacted for an interview, asked for references and then to not even say what the position entails. I have asked about the position I am being interviewed for and on most occasions am told I can ask questions during the interview. (WT*) That's not how it works. I am glad to be asked to interview, but I may NOT want the job so let's not waste my time, nor yours.

KMC After several back-and-forth emails, someone finally replied with the information I was asking. You can't just say hte job is teaching music or science or math, particularly at the secondary level. A bit more information is needed. @Haha maybe you are right that it is assumed people are so hungry for the job.

JJJ123 Having been a school-based administrator, I can say that at the secondary me El, in some cases the school might not know exactly what courses the person will be teaching until closer to when the school year starts. haha Also always bearing in mind that you can and possibly will be asked to teach anything on/covered by your certificate, which can change from year to year or even more suddenly, depending on student needs, admin vision/preferences, etc.

You are correct. It is bad form.

And it is arrogant. There is no thought given that they may be wasting your time. There is no thought given to the idea that you are a stakeholder in this process, and that you may actually say no, and turn down the position.
