I am an MSc Psychology student currently recruiting participants to contribute to my dissertation research exploring attitudes towards inclusive education and teaching strategies implemented in primary schools.
If you have 5 minutes to spare, an interest in this topic and work as a teaching professional in the UK (mainstream or special school), you have an opportunity to express your views towards inclusive education. If interested in participating, please click the link below.
It's not in DoDEA's interest to point out their bad hiring decisions, or to track teacher turnover. They get rid of people as quietly as possible, and those people are quickly forgotten.
Some firing decisions are justified. Some leave other teachers puzzled. But the secrecy of HR decisions keeps it all very, very quiet.
What happens if I resign after 1 year? I am in Europe, and I am not sure this position is for me. Just want to fully understand what I will have to pay back. Thanks for any info.

That said, I'm certain that DODEA has some sort of deadline by which time you have to submit your resignation. Although I am a former DoDDS teacher, I finished my career in my home state and I would guess that DODEA and all other education systems would have similar procedures. As an example, in my home state school districts would give out contracts in March or April to teachers and were given a deadline at which time to return it signed or decline it. Usually a week or two was given to decide. If a teacher wasn't certain, they'd sign it and return it indicating they would be returning to the same position for the next school year. But the state has a requirement that in order to get out of that contract, a teacher must submit a resignation no later than 45 days before the first day of instruction. After that deadline which is usually in early July, a teacher can't get out of their contract unless the school district or an administrator agrees to release them from that contract. If the administrator or school district does not give approval and the teacher quits anyway after that deadline, that district then places a 1 year hold on that teacher's state license which prevents the teacher from being able to teach in a public school in this state for one calendar year. So I'm guessing that DODEA may have something similar and you would need to find out the specifics of all this and what are the dates and regulations in DODEA for all of this.

IcanreadThat's a good question for HR. You signed a mobility agreement and transportation agreement so I'm assuming that the answer would be "yes, you have to repay if you don't fulfill the agreement."
This is a commercial SATO routing with a 28 day quarantine period -- 14 days NRT Airport and 14 days Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Airport. There are no direct America to MCAS Iwakuni flights until after 03/10/2022. I decided it was best to get to the new duty post ASAP in case there are further delays due to CoVID-19 Pandemic. I had to travel within a minus 7 plus 7 days of the 02/28/2022 date shown on my PCS Travel Orders or start the PCS Orders process again. There may or may not be a federal government pause on 03/11/2022 due to congressional funding issues. I decided to move ASAP.
Timeline: 12/16/2021 received unsolicited DoDEA job offer from USAJOBS. Received clear criminal bkgnd chk last month. Received PCS Travel Orders last week. Received electronic E-tickets via email today.
Unlike my previous two DoDEA services, the current service does not allow me to pick and choose flights from America to Japan. The only way to avoid a 28 day CoVID quarantine is to fly into an American military airport in Japan. Then, I must only endure a 14 day quarantine on base, but I will not be allowed to leave my base hotel room until the 15th day.
