Anyone use oil pastels in your classroom? How do you keep kids from making sure they don't end up all over the floor? As well as them using the sides of them to color because they want to rush and finish their piece.
I am trying to find a better clay than Amaco's Versa Clay. My school was using it before I came for about 20 years. I love its plasticity, but I find that coming out of the bag it is not well-pugged - some huge and many smaller air bubbles in every block! My school was using it before I came for about 20 years. I love its plasticity, but I find that coming out of the bag it is not well-pugged - some huge and many smaller air bubbles in every block! I just do not have time to wedge every new block of clay with 450 students each semester. It has to be on our purchaser list, which includes NASCO, Blick, TRIARCO, Bailey's Pottery, and SAXs, and not cost more than $22 for $50 lbs - that's why I am looking at the possibilities below:

Any NC teachers received their national boards?
So, I would like to know what needs to be in my sketchbook? I have drawn many things but, is that all a University is looking for, or do I need to actually write down what it is and why I did it? I'm a little confused on the matter.
Need a little bit of help. I am wanting to donate some art supplies to an elementary school art teacher as a "a donation has been made to this elementary art teacher on your behalf" type thing. The person who it will be on behalf of was a former art teacher.
So, what would be on your list of supplies??
