Our school board has a character trait each month with teaching ideas. It unfortunately is so important to teach these traits, as they don't get it at home anymore. At a recent visit to the a restaurant, I overheard a child say, "Look there's the POPO" when the paramedics took someone by the window in a stretcher. Instead of saying, I wonder what was wrong with that person.

It goes to show when they are taught at home.
JB I use the "Wrinkled Heart" activity the first day of school. It starts the school year off right!

6th grade I use the "wrinkled heart" activity also. It does seem effective.
