I am hoping to reenter a professional teaching position . Recieved my degree in 2002 and have a scattered work history since then . The past 3 years I've substituted at a nearby school. I'm planning on returning to college and getting recertified with an add on certificate in either prek or special ed. When i got my degree in Alabama , I learned Louisiana requires the Praxis. So I still have 2 parts of that to pass. I've taught here and there and I'm just worried that my history may be a problem as well as my age- 55. I just wonder if this will be worth it and am i too old to even do this. Should i go with prek or special ed? Feel like employers may look at my age and say I'm too old for prek. I don't know . Just confused but don't want to waste my time working on this for nothing. I'm getting the vocational rehab people to pay for it so I really don't want to make the wrong decision. Need some feedback. Thanks.
