I enjoy using picture books to encourage kids to write. What is your favorite picture book to encourage creative writing?

Evan Have students create their own picture books with captions. I have done this activity. The students enjoyed the project. learned to organize their thoughts, and refined their writing skills.

Picture Book Woman icture books make wonderful prompts for writing. They can give background information (Sky Tree), stimulate creative thought (Judy and the Volcano), and validate personal experience as an appropriate source of inspiration (Be Good to Eddie Lee or Just in Time for Christmas)
