My class is out of control after lunch on Fridays. I don't know what happens, but they get too chatty and can be disrespectful. I also have not been as consistent with discipline as I need to be. It is my first year teaching and I'm still trying to get a handle on everything.

Today, after lunch, they argued with me and were rude. I know this was wrong, but I didn't do anything about it. Normally, I would issue a consequence, but I was just too burnt out and tired. I need to get through the next 29 days, but I'm not sure how.

Leah Friday afternoons are tough, especially in the spring with that age group.

Lynn Don't give up now...when you are so close! They are definitely testing you and their boundaries...and since you didn't issue consequences...they might now feel they can get away with anything.
