For those who use Marvin Marshall's approach to discipline (Discipline without Stress, Punishments or Rewards), I've just posted a "Back to School lesson" using Kevin Henkes' book, "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" on my blog. It's got several suggestions for ways in which you could use this picture book to introduce or reinforce some basic concepts of DWS.
For anyone else who just needs a Sunday morning laugh, you can scroll right to the bottom of the post to see a youtube clip. If you've ever spend hours planning "the perfect lesson" but right before the bell goes you CAN'T FIND the book, you'll relate to this 2 minute video! Personally, I could have had the starring role in this dramatic film!
