A visitor was coming for a week or more, so do this, do that, add on this and that. Also, there were long faculty meetings because of threats of a schedule change. But I got settled down again. Again the principal said I was doing well - not just well but even said that was a great class. Then in a month there was another overhaul!!! This continued at least one more time and I gave up. I gave up because we were suddenly changing the schedule from a 4x4 block to 9 periods. This started in mid-October. The teachers were suffering - and I actually think it is possible they were suffering as they tried to keep up to the standard that I survived. Sometimes I wondered - maybe it is partly my fault - maybe the principal thinks if I can survive, then everyone should be able to. I quit my job. Now my greatest struggle might be survival of my family. And this is not the first time I have quit. I'll say a bit more even though it probably belongs in another post. But this is not the first time I quit! I had a principal at another school that came to school drunk at least once (rumors were that she was an alcoholic and got drunk every evening) and she always kept teachers on edge. I was not a member of the union, but I had a heart to heart with the union leader and I suggested it might help if I quit my job. The union leader (the top guy - what do you call him - president?) agreed that I was probably the one that should go just because I was able to survive - wasn't married at the time, no family, excellent physical condition, etc. I quit, but I was lucky - found another job in another state. Right after I quit my car got totaled when someone through rocks at me from a cliff, I stopped the car and another car rammed me. The tribal police were not able to find out who hit me. The car frame was bent and I could not get insurance to pay. But I want to add, I really don't have a lot of respect for unions either - probably especially because of that experience. To be honest, and this is the first time I have ever said this, but I could feel they didn't really want me around.
