I assign a book review every year and each year a few books are added to the list and a few taken away. I have made it a duty to be versed in every book on the list (I am a heavy and fast reader). I also make up my own quizzes. For any books on the list that have small yellow cliff note books to them I often get the cliff note books as well and when forming my quizzes avoid any questions (as much as I can) that might be answered from simply reading the cliff notes. Is this a cruel way of making a quiz? I find it a way to make the students look mroe into the work than waht is simply written on the page which is my devotion as a literature teacher.
