Seems like the Democrats are now okay ending the Schumer Shutdown. Problem is, it looks a whole heck of a lot like the bill that the Democrats voted against in shutting down the government for three days, causing people to die, putting us in danger of an asteroid strike, and putting the full faith and credit of the US in danger. All for 800,000 illegal immigrants. Even the HuffPo admits that the Democrats were against what was NOT in the bill, not what was in it. Democrats can't take yes for an answer.

But, at least Chuckles got his way. We know now that both he and Guttierez are both willing to fund the wall (I'm still curious just what number Schumer accepted).

Again, if the Dreamers were so important, why did President Obama and the Democrats use the two years where they had complete control of the legislative and executive branches to pass all of their closely held beliefs? Why no immigration reform when they had control of both houses of congress? The answer ... ...See More

Tim Finnegan Bob, politifact is hardly the party of Trump.

Bob R/CA Obama (and the four presidents before him) were unable to bring the parties together on comprehensive immigration reform. And consequently, Obama (like Reagan and HW Bush) came up with an executive solution for the Dreamers. Trump eliminated the Dreamers' security, said he'd sign any legislative solution and address immigration reform later - then ...See More

Tim Finnegan But Bob, you forget, President Obama and the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress (similar to the Republicans now) and the White House (again, just like the Republicans). No need to bring the parties together. If Democrats really wanted immigration reform, or single payer health care, they could have had it. They had complete control.

T.E.C. - Iowa Anyone who thinks either party wants comprehensive immigration reform is fooling themselves. American capitalism loves helpless workers who will work for little or nothing - workers so helpless they will pull down wages across the whole country. Even if the few DACA immigrants are finally given a break, the oligarchs do not want congress messing wi...See More
