Head Start?

I am presently teaching 3 year olds. I have a very difficult class and no support from my manager. I have looked at other jobs but hate to leave my students since I am now the third teacher they've had this year. So I will "muddle through somehow."

I've signed up for : teacherdevos.com

I figured what could it hurt???

Any tips from other head start teachers? Thanks!!

MsSpider Sorry it took me so long to get back toy you. It sounds like you have a lot of transitions in your day which are generally difficult for three year olds. It also seems like they have not had much stability this year with so many different teachers so that is going to cause behavior issues as well. curious Our schedule is made for us so we have no say in the day. The biggest problem is that we have several severe behavior problems. We can't use any behavior mod only redirection. I've documented and documented and documented and nothing has happened. They bite and hit and scream. We try using puppets to model good behavior and praising good behavior. ...See More

curious Thank you so much. You have helped me more than you will ever know already!! Just knowing I am not alone and others have made it through horrendous years helps!! Our parents are fairly supportive but they are very young and many are in complete denial.

Ms I'm so happy to help. I know how exhausting it is. It would be awful to brush teeth with no sink in the room! We do ours after breakfast because it is a much calmer time of day, I understand your supervisor may not let you though.
