We are taking a look at how we use our resource teachers. Right now they are used as the class the students go to when their general ed. teacher has her planning period. Is there any other way they are used in your bldg.? THANKS!

Kindergarten Teacher Anon- Wow! We must work at the same school! Either that, or our resource people are talking/texting your resource people! How sad, how frustrating. And the kicker......they make 10% more per year than regular ed!

RESOURCE = CUSHY JOB Our resource teacher is so pathetic I would not even call her a teacher. She spends most of her time in our building either on the phone or cruising the hallways. She needs to move on!

don't know I'm a bit indecisive on our RT. Her role is to help us plan for our identified students, she contacts special agencies, helps US write referrals, fills in if a sub doesnt' show up. talks with parents. But I don't see her working a lot with students ...I think each school is different. It depends on how hard working the RT is....just like with teach...See More

Judy2/CA The resource position is very different in our district. She works with spec ed kids all day, heads up the SST meetings(the one I attended last week for my student was 2 hrs long), does the IEP conferences, etc. Her portable is 1 away from mine. Our resource teachers work hard and have a lot of kids to keep track of, grade, write reports on, etc. Shame on those who don't!
