I posted an inquiry a few days ago but haven't received any responses. I'm hoping that if I direct my question to administrators I may receive some responses. I am a recently retired reading teacher (literacy specialist). I am enjoying retirement but miss teaching. I feel that I retired too young and still have much to give as a teacher. I receive a pension and cannot work in a public school system I would love to work in a private school. I would not ask for the same salary as other teachers because I am receiving a modest income from my pension. I am also considering returnming to school to receive a certificate in special education. My friends and family think I'm crazy but I loved teaching and want to continue for a while. If you are an administrator or know an administyrator, would you please let me know what you think? I am certified to teach elementary grades N-6 and Reading, grades K-12. Thanks so much!
4th I am not an administrator, but have worked in private schools for 16 years. I think you'd have a fairly easy time of getting a job. Private schools are always in need of good, experiences teachers. There are vast differences in pay, depending on the school and the area of the country you are in.

adm I am a private school admin--what would you be looking for-- part time? salary? Schools if funds are available would love to hire extra support for their kids--it depends on what you are looking for! adm On 5/26/12, Maria wrote: > I posted an inquiry a few days ago but haven't received any > responses. Maria Thanks so much for your response! I would prefer full-time but certainly would consider part-time, as well. I would not expect a big salary. As an administrator of a private school, in what areas do you see your greatest teaching needs? What's your location? Thanks!

Terryleigh I work with a number of private school teachers at our school in PA. One teacher is a full time math teacher, another a HS English teacher and the other one substitutes for free whenever we need her. She does not want any money so we always send her gas cards :) Each private school is different in their needs and it can vary from year to year. My r...See More
