I am stumped--for the past 5 years I've been teaching high school Spanish but next year I will be taking on elementary reading intervention. While I expect the classes to be small and am not concerned overly about discipline and I have a specific program that I will follow for daily teaching and some ideas of my own, I AM totally stumped about how to start the year off! It's been several years since I even worked with children this young (between 1st and 6th grades) and I didn't start the year off with them then. I have materials for bulletin boards and activities but those first few days are killing me....

Any help?? TIA
