I am currently working on my MA in educational technology, but I will be done very soon. I was a computer technician, now a computer teacher and I want to move closer into the tech coordinator position.

If I get another degree in IT will that make me look better?

CTJS In NJ, in my school district, you have to get a supervisor's certificate to be the tech coordinator.

Vicki I think this differs so much from state to state. I've known technology coordinators that were administrators with no computer backgrounds and some others lacked a background in education.

PW Yes, in my state (Texas) there is no specific credential required to be a Director of Technology. It is up to each individual district. In my district, the Director of Technology has a bachelor's degree with teaching experience and technology applications certification.
