Our 4 first grades rotate into each of our classroom. For
my activity we start with a poem about 100 days of school.
How can we count to 100? We count by 1s, 5s,10, and 25s.
We talk about 100 cents in $1.00. There are 4 quarters in
a dollar, or four 25s. I have bought 4 25 piece puzzles.
Actually they had 24 pieces, but we counted the top of the
box to make the whole picture as one more. I divided the
class into groups and they rotated around completing each
puzzle that the group could do in the time frame. It was
very interesting to watch the many didn't ways the puzzle
was solved. Also watching other students other than my own
was fun too.
