Hello! I work at a school where 92% or more of our students live in poverty. Many don't have a single book at home to read and many are far behind in Reading. I have the idea of starting an afterschool Reading Club where we'll read and discuss, even act out books students choose. I am willing to volunteer one day a week, as I believe I need to be part of the solution to helping my students. I am starting to apply for grants and am looking for help/ideas about my specific program.(I've only been thinking about this since this morning). If you could share ideas that would be great. I want to present this to my principal and get started writing a grant. Thank you!!!! Debbey

Don Davis The US Department of Education has a grant program called Literacy Through School Libraries that your program would fit perfectly. It usually comes out around the first of the year.
