I am conducting a study on physical education in Florida for my dissertation. I need between 10-20 participants. The process is simple, it only requires participants to answer 10 research questions. If interested please respond. Thanks.
What is the story with the Gates Foundation and Hillsborough County? Why does this county need so many teachers? I just returned from overseas and would love to live and work in Tampa. Is it easy to get a contract?
I am a Canadian teacher and my spouse and I are looking into moving to Florida, does anyone know if Canadian teaching certifications are recognized/valid in Florida or the process to go about doing this?
There don't seem to be many positions near where I am in Hernando County, so I was looking at Monroe County recently and they just have a kazillion openings. So what's the deal? Low pay, high cost of living?
JennaThere is a shortage in Florida but the need is concentrated in high-poverty schools where teachers are already walking out (1 month into the school year). Well run districts get to choose.
I'm not seeing a shortage in my area either, north central Florida. Don't let it get you down. Take a break, talk to people, call schools, sub. Every single job on the planet will at some point have an opening... Persevere.

The weather is definitely better than Michigan! Pay may look amazing on where you move. Look up the cost of living in that area. Schools differ from district to district on how supportive admin is to staff.
