I was no renewed for the next school year, however, every district asks if you have no been renewed or asked to resign - and if so, to write an explanation. What should I do?

Bill W In this economy, you, basically are done in eduction. I would find a school you love and sub there. If they like you, you might be able to get a position down the down road.

anon Don't engage in semantic fraud by claiming a non-renewal that is not a RIF isn't the same as a firing. It is; the only difference is the teacher has no right a hearing or "due process."

Actually, a good number of Illinois districts don't lay-off, or reduce-in-force. They simply non-renew the required teachers that need to go. In a neighboring district, they did not renew any non-tenured...See More
