My husband received a job in OK so we are moving. I turned in my resignation last week. I was asked to pay a 4% penalty since it was after May 15. This is what my master agreement says "Any employee asking to leave their position, only if seeking other employment, shall pay the following penalties."

I don't think I fit in that category. What do you think?

lucy You would have to pay "liquidation of damages" in our district. After May 15 is a small amount ( I forget the exact amount) and it increases then during the summer and is several thousand if you try to get out of your contract after school starts. In fact, they don't have to release you if they can show that replacing you would be a hardship. That'...See More
