Hello,

I am applying for a MI professional teaching certificate from out of state. I am still waiting for it to process. I know I will have to take the Reading methods classes. I will be certified K-12 special education LD. Does anyone know if University of Phoenix's online continuing education credits will count towards the reading requirement? I got an approved list with Michigan schools, but University of Phoenix looks to be the cheapest and fastest option for me.

Michelle I'm not sure what list you have, but if you google "Michigan required reading course", you will find the list from the state of MIchigan. THey list the exact courses that you can take, by school, and with the course number. It's at the State of MI website. I have to take it, so I am staying provisional while I save up the $1500! Yeeks. the teacher to the stars U of P is a no go. I Tried and Michigan won't say that the credit will be excepted. Marygrove has the course online at a good price. But you have to have access to a student with reading deficiencies and video a lesson with that student. The books are analogous through Course Smart at a good price.
