Question about a strange interview! A bit long sorry!

Ok, so I went to an interview a couple days ago in a different city about 3 hours away from my home. Its where I want to teach at, but in a very low income school district. Now that part doesn't bother me at all. So I drive all the way there and go to this school. I tell the secretary that I am there for an interview with Mr. "Principal." She then tells me that he is not available and that he told her to inform everyone that the position had been filled. Ok so at this point I am getting really peeved because I had just talked to him last Thursday right after school got out(interview on Monday). This was a call back from him calling me the same day mind you. So I decide to ask questions and I tell the lady how I was from out of town and how I had just talked to him a few days before. I then asked what position was filled because he told me kindergarten and third. I was for Kindergarten. She said the 3rd grade position like it was the only one. I then tell her I was for the K position. So already things are strange, but there is more to come! She told me he wasn't even in the building that day and so she called him. She told him the situation and so he told her to let another guy go ahead and interview me. This guy was standing in for the principal for that day and was a retired one, not really working at the school, just standing in for a day. Strange, but I was like ok whatever its an interview. So the guy looks over my resume and likes it and asks me one question about my philosophy of teaching. That's it! The rest was about me, like where Iwent to school, would I be able to move, etc... I was able to ask a few questions but not like I wanted to. In the process he was telling me about how he didn't know if the position was really open and how enrollment was down and without actually saying it, said if you did get the job if enrollment was down again I would not have a job. In the end of this ten minute interview he said he really liked me and would recommend me to the pricipal and regional super. So I am wondering if I should even take this school seriously, missing appointments, interview with someone who does not even know I'm coming, and just lack of professionalism seemingly? I need a job bad, but this one??? What do you all think, is this a norm or just all out bad and I should run if they call me back? Thanks for reading my longness but it has been bugging me all week!
