Hubby and I decided to try another hiking trail in town. I was only a 2 mile loop but we did some of the smaller off shoot trails. It was a beautiful day and the temperature was perfect. This is definitely a trail I would do again but not alone. The paths were a bit overgrown which made it scary for me.
We've had two days of rain/snow flurries/wind/cold. I did get a walk in both days, though I came home wet yesterday morning. Consequently I just barely topped 10K these days. I admit to walking in place just to see the green bar on the graph. On the + side for the week-end, I had a lovely 2-hour visit with a friend who moved to the west coast 18 years ago. One of those where you would swear you just talked yesterday; time collapsed.

I had to take my mom for a haircut and I needed a nail repaired. After that, we ate a late lunch and came home to check on the dog. He had some intestinal issues overnight. He was better with no further issues.
Well, I didn't get that mile last night after all so I added it to today's mileage. Since I was starting later than usual, I decided to stay in the neighborhood. I walked to the park (.75 miles). I started both my apps as soon as I stepped out the door so some of my c25k run/walks were on the way to the park. My neighborhood does not have street lights or sidewalks so I run/walk against traffic and move to the grassy area when I see a car. By the time I got to the park, I had complete 2 intervals of the run/walk.
My plan was to just do 4 miles (to complete my 18 miles for the week M-Sat). But, my math was off. As I exited the park, my app told me I had completed 4 miles. Somehow I didn't hear the 3 mile notification. Oh well, since I still had to get home, I kept going until I hit 5 miles.
Despite the 88*, 50% humidity and sunshine, I managed not to overheat! I finished my water and was able to refill at the park.
My total mileage for the week: 19.67 in 5:57 hours. I'm not going to worry about the time just yet. It just feels so good that I am moving again and have had ZERO injuries or even soreness.
Elaine/ret/INjrod, that's a mighty fine weekly total. And, you do it honestly, just measuring your actual "workout" time. Some cheaters count their total steps for the day. ;)
My total steps for the day were 10,840, done in two segments. I had to take off my windbreaker and my sweatshirt. Wheeee! My eyes are blind to the 39F for Monday's high.
jrodElaine. I don't put steps since neither of my app counts them and my fitness tracker broke over a year ago. I don't consider anyone a cheater for posting steps instead of mileage. Moving is moving and that'a all that matters!
5th grade about to enter middle school. They are on about a 3rd grade level--not at all confident in even basic computation of multi-digit numbers for example. Thought the best thing would be to at least become proficient in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division so at least there is that foundation in middle school. The downside is they will not get as much help on what they are currently studying. Any advice helpful on how best to remediate with these students.
