I participated in a balance study at the local university. It was interesting even though I won't ever know what they learned when it's all done. They measured the strength of each foot and how well I can feel the bottom of my feet. They tickled different parts of the bottom of each foot with various filaments. Then they put me in a harness like they do for rock climbing before the work began. They velcroed sensors around my head, upper arm, upper chest, waist, thigh and calf. For 1 minute 40 seconds I had to stand on this treadmill like looking platform that moves in unexpected ways and without holding onto anything try to keep the board horizontal. 2 minutes off and the then do the 1 min 40 second stage again. This went in for about an hour and a half. They already did the college age group and they are comparing the Medicare age group to see how balance changes with age
I'm being more faithful in my walking these past few days. 3 consecutive days of my 10,000 steps. The fall days have been cold and crisp; I haven't broken down and worn my knee-length coat, but I sure did tie tightly when doing the scarf around my neck.
I walked on the golf course the last 2 days. The yellow leaves ringing the green fairways are quite beautiful. The peak has passed, but the fall is still lovely.
I'm not sure how long my kale can hang on, however. ;)
I have come to regard November as the older, harder person's October. I appreciate the early darkness and cooler temperatures. It puts my mind in a different place than October. It is a month for a quieter, slightly more subdued celebration of summer's death as winter tightens its grip.
What morning routines have you found that works best for you? I will be in a classroom for elem students with ED. I am going to need tp try different things so the more ideas the better. Thanks.

This is a private school where the teachers barely acknowledge the IEP.
children should be in a public school with more support.
We're targeting IEP goals in RR.
I'm not great with speaking formally on these things.
Since you are at a private school, talk to your admin. about being able to service the child. Sometimes they will hang on to these kids because they don't want to lose the tuition money and some schools have no problem letting the parents know that they can't service the child and will send them back to the public school.
