I believe in the dignity of labor, whether with head or hand; that the world owes no one a living but that it owes every person an opportunity to make a living.
Well, it might actually be September . . . a little sweat during the walk. Of course 45F when we woke up feels more like a month from now. 12,156 steps today. Loved the sun and the blue sky. Off to the lake with my Mexican salad for the buffet table.
Yes, the Pumpkinvine Ride is a good one. We ride the trail all the time but have not done the actual ride. It has a several mile stretch of road between the two main trails. We don't ride on the road--we did that section one time. Too many hills; too little berm for us wimps. But, it's a magnificent trail--through wooded areas, through gorgeous farm land, through Middlebury. DH likes the DQ's proximity to the trail, too. ;) Come for the ride next summer; maybe we can pull in a few other Teachers.netters. Are you listening, Bev?
Your job sounds perfect for you. I'm sure your co-teacher is delighted to have you on board--experienced, energetic, loves children, understands education. You two will make a dynamite team!
judycaretI'm here! I walked 3 miles today before it hit 108 degrees. Yes, 108. These are unprecedented numbers for us, horrendous heat wave. For the first time in the 27 years we've lived here, I've left the AC on overnight the last 2 nights. No wonder I'm looking forward to moving back to coastal Southern California.
Fellow teachers. I'm developing an app to help my intermediate students drill verb tenses and auxiliaries. (I used to work in animation programming before i became a teacher).
Anyone who would like to get to try it out and provide feedback about it, email me and I'll send it
