Yes, Men, we are wearing jackets way too early this year in Indiana as well. I hope your hip settles down. Do you have another distance ride in your future? How's the job so far?
Less than 7,000 steps the last two days. Today I even begged the grands to ride bikes in the sub-division so I could walk after them. Of course, now they have to wait for Gram at every corner.
Yesterday we went to their favorite park; I love to see them climb. Especially when we all leave the park without injury. Made our own pizzas. Hot pretzels for dessert. Open house at their new school--transferring from private to a public STEM academy.

BLts for lunch this week! Fresh tomatoes and sliced cukes. Corn on the cob has been a staple for dinner! DH has been a favorite around town. He picks it then goes around giving it out. lol I have to put in my order before he leaves, or he gives the peppers, squash, and corn away.
I am grade 5 teacher in Alberta. To teach geography of Canada I would like to send a teddy of some kind to each territory and province and hear about your culture and important things about your province is anyone interested? I will send your class a teddy and letters, you then send the teddy back with a picture and a letter about your province.
1. If applicable, and time allowed, would you appreciate being contacted directly by the sub the day before they enter your classroom?
2. If you have lesson plans available, I would certainly make sure the class gets them. However, in the event the students finish the work early, and there is 30 minutes left of class time, what would you suggest the sub do? Should I have an arsenal of my own worksheets available?
Any other suggestions and ideas are appreciated! TYIA

It was my regular practice when it was possible to reach out to teachers in advance. They were always very appreciative and it helped me fill the role effectively. As a full-time teacher, I wish I had guest teachers do the same for me.
2. Get to class early and scout out the text book. Most have questions and exercises in the back. If you are in a place with no text book check out all of the boards and information on the walls. Chances are you can formulate an assignment that will still meet the current skill sets being taught. The trick to getting the students to do it is to present it as if it is just part of the day's work. As they finish the "real" assignment simply hand them the new one or have it already written on the board/screen.
*Bonus* You might want to discreetly pass this link around. I love our guest teachers and I most likely will go back to guest teaching when I retire.
Today was the zoo with the grands. Not quite 10,000 steps. But, so worth it. The 7-year-old would still be in the aquarium if they didn't close it! And, the 5-year-old, well, yes, she does like feeding the goats.
