• Integrate sports/PE into art curriculum (specifically photography)
• Authentic and relevant combination of art and sports
I'm looking because I have an apathetic, disengaged, at-risk, proudly latino student (recalcitrant too, but I'm becoming attached to him) who has communicated some interest in sports, especially swimming and some soccer. He's come to our charter as a last-ditch effort to graduate high school.
It always seems to be the very athletic kids that disengage the most in art. I also have the hardest time making art relative for sports enthusiasts in comparison to pretty much any other subject.
Thoughts? Ideas?
An idea
Can he take some photos of the school team or kids just doing what kids do? Maybe he do something personal like his family, "a day in his life" or something that interests him. The pictures of the sports team, game or practice would be a good combination. Maybe he could do a video or use a go pro to document him playing sports or somethin...See More
