On a low carb diet and I don't eat processed foods, I make everything from scratch after learning about the industrialized oils in our foods that are highly suspected in Alzheimer's. But I am craving a dessert!

Any of you exercisers have a go-to snack/dessert that is low carb and not too sugary? I don't mind some sugar as it is natural and artificial sweeteners are not. I tried to Google but the only things coming up are processed, processed snacks.
Flacka I googled low carb desserts and found quite a few websites.

This was my mother's recipe and I don't know if this has too much sugar for your liking but this makes a fair amount and they are very good

Elaine/ret/IN My go-to snacks are energy balls from the Quaker Oats site. They are definitely whole foods. But they have bananas and oats, so they aren't low carb.

Have you tried Paleo sites? They'll be low carb (but not low calories.

My actual gurus of choice are Dean Ornish and Joel Fuhrman. But that's another story.

DonnaR/CA As a T2 diabetic, there are a number of low-carb snacks that are my "go-to's". Bear in mind, that small portions are key.

Celery with a little bit of peanut butter

Baby carrots, with or without low-fat ranch dressing

Almonds and a number of other types of nuts
