EXERCISE ROLL CALL - Saturday and Sunday

It's dangerous hot here in the high 90's with those temps to last into next week. So, riding a bike means hitting the trails and/or roads as early in the day as possible. I rode with the training group yesterday morning and we got 12 miles in on the county roads. There was a lot of gravel spilled out on the roads I am assuming is from construction projects. There was a vintage fire truck blasting it's siren with a bunch of kids riding on the truck out in the middle of nowhere to advertise a vintage farm machinery auction and show. That meant more traffic then we usually run into.

This morning I took the 8 year old grand on her first long bike ride on her new 20" bike. We got out early but it was still very warm. We got in a little over 6 miles at an average of 6.5 mph. We had a few hydration stops and we ran into the goose family who hissed at us as we powered through. She was a trooper and will be a wonderful biking companion in the near future with grandma.

Elaine/ret/IN Men, how amazing that you are "grooming" a biking partner. How fortunate for both of you to spend this time together and exercise at the same time!

men52 Elaine, I'm glad to see you're still stepping. It all adds up. I lead my little group this morning for 10 miles. Again the heat was suffocating but there was a breeze that helped keep things tolerable.

men52 Elaine: no, you are right - not bike tired - just non stop TAXI driving stuff. I went non stop from 1 to 10PM driving others to appointments and other things. I used a lot of gas. One fun thing is the 8 year old had her first crochet lesson and since I am there I am learning too! She made a very long chain as she learned the correct hand movements....See More
