Martin GailA resume should be of two pages where you can highlight academic and professional experience in a well formatted manner. You can apply design tools for making them more attractive.
If you are applying through EAS, make sure all the important information is in the application. The resume may not be printed unless specifically requested.
I'm wondering, is a referral automatically generated everytime a position becomes open or does the school go through the process of looking at PCSers and local hires first and THEN go to CONUS and ask for referrals? Just me obsessing...
CmcI was a local applicant that was qualified on a referral list OCONUS and the lei principal hired a CONUS candidate and I didn't even get called for an interview so it could go either way it seems.
By the way, there are no openings at t...See MoreI was reading the job requirements for APs, and it listed a master's or doctorate in educational administration. This is going to sound really dumb, but how does a master's or doctorate in educational leadership compare? Are they basically the same thing? My gut tells me yes, but it makes me nervous.
By the way, there are no openings at the moment, I am just being proactive.
RJTrue, yet the only announcement I've seen has been for a principal position stateside. I'm assuming that the internal hires were already in the pool that was formed at the beginning of the school year.
Yes, that wasn't intentional. So it looks like focused collaboration has made its way to Asia. I'm curious, is Europe having to do mandated collaboration for 90 minutes a week, and do specialists collaborate via VTC once a month?
HelpOthersMany specialists in Japan are supposed to meet virtually across the district every week, but some principals are still confused and mandate in school collaboration on certain weeks. I would like to see the confusion go away.
hahaApparently there is no in school collaboration for the rest of the year (for secondary at least). For SPED, it's virtual FC with our SPED counterparts every 3rd Tuesday and joining a virtual FC for a core subject on all of the other Tuesdays. :S :(
Snow LaneExactly what icanread said. I got referrals and an interview the first year I uploaded, but then nothing for a few years. I reuploaded because of a name change then all of a sudden, a lot of referrals. Several people seem to have the same experience, so I always encourage everyone to reupload. It doesn't hurt to do it.
What grade would a Masters Degree with19 years of public school teaching at the state level be? Also, I've heard that the high these step someone can start on without federal experience is a step 5. Is that correct?
I have a question regarding salary. I am a sped teacher in California with 15 years experience. I am on the last column of my salary schedule and wondering if I would be taking a huge pay cut if I decide to take a job with the DoD. I saw on another post that DoD europe will give 10 years experience. Is the salary taxed and are LQA included in that salary? I think it would be worth it if LQA are separate as half of my salary now goes to mortgage. Any information on salary and benefits of working for the DoD would be greatly appreciated.
HelpOthersDuring the interview write/type their entire question. Often each question has multiple parts that need to be answered. Make sure to answer each part.
Do we have to get housing approval from the housing office to get our LQA allowance? Getting so many mixed answers, thought I would ask here. Thank you!
Snow LaneThe size of the place doesn't matter, just the cost. We live in a five bedroom enormous home and it's just me and my husband. Even then, we're well below our LQA.
Living on base will usually be limited based on civilian status and family makeup. Two children can't share a room after specific ages-each base has its own regulations for this.
