Hi all,

I have a question regarding salary. I am a sped teacher in California with 15 years experience. I am on the last column of my salary schedule and wondering if I would be taking a huge pay cut if I decide to take a job with the DoD. I saw on another post that DoD europe will give 10 years experience. Is the salary taxed and are LQA included in that salary? I think it would be worth it if LQA are separate as half of my salary now goes to mortgage. Any information on salary and benefits of working for the DoD would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help!

Teacher2 Thanks haha! Would the DoD give me my full 15 years experience or would they only give me 11?

haha NP. Unless it is federal experience, generally the max credit is 10 years (and everyone starts at Step 1) so you would start at 11.
