So I just realized I put myself as nonveteran status on my application. I actually do have veteran status, but it wont let me go back in and change that. Do I need to redo the whole application? Or can someone go in and change that for me?
somedayJello- like the others said it could take years. You might get referrals and no interviews, you might hear nothing. I am preparing with that in mind but I love where I work now and either way my house is getting sold because I am downsizing. You can be optimistic of course but there are no guarantees.
Can people in different locations shed some light on how much your car insurance is particularly in Japan, Germany and Italy but other locations also would be great. I have read that in Italy it is really high. It is one of those expenses you get so used to paying a certain amount. I want to make sure I am budgeting correctly.
somedaySo those costs don't seem bad. Thank you for the info. I was reading on different sites that people were paying 400 a month in Italy. Which seemed really high to me.
Soooo... once EQIP comes back ok, does that mean I'll get the final offer and moving date? Or is there another step before that? I'm hoping I get the EQIP ok soon!
My current principal is being horrible about the entire situation and doesn't seem to understand that I don't actually control anything done by the government.
Principals are notorious about caring mostly about knowing that they have their classrooms covered and do not do well with uncertainty. Many principals seem to be more understanding when it comes to leaving to accept a job with DoDEA for various reasons, but obviously some don't care why you're leaving. They just want a definitive answer to when, so they can plan accordingly.
I applied on DODEA website few months ago for math position in South Korea for 2018-2019 school year. How long does the process take? Is there any way I can find out if they're hiring math teacher in Korea school district?
On the other hand, Korea is often the first posting for new DoDEA hires and many teachers try to move/transfer to another location as soon as they are eligible. That, combined with the fact that math is a relatively high needs area means that iti's a virtual certainty that schools in Korea will be hiring at least several math teachers for next year. If I hear/read anything I will post it.
spedteach4I am in the same situation. I applied and got the same "tentatively eligible" response. The email said we would hear back in 4-6 weeks about moving forward in the process or not. Let me know if you hear anything!!
Also I read about a timeline from interview to orders. I could not find this could someone link me with that timeline?
My last question is about benefits. I am a mil spouse and I understand the benefits of the military but I am not sure about dodea benefits. How much are teachers expected to put toward their insurance?
Once your application is frozen it is generally a few days until you get a tentative offer (if one is coming). Up to two weeks would not be wildly out of the ordinary. After that, you might want to try calling HR and asking if they can shed any light on the situation.
IcanreadIs it possible they are waiting for the CR/budget stuff to go through before offering you the job? I got my firm offer this week, but my HR rep told me they are waiting for the CR to pass before they send me my travel orders.
