Adding LIMS would definitely go a long way to helping. I also had only LIMM and was in the system for years. As soon as I added LIMS across the grade levels I got an offer. If you are state certified in any of those then you should only need 6 hours to be qualified by DoDDS in that area. If not, then you would need 12 hours in one of those areas and you would think that your SPED degree would have at least one or two classes that have mod to sev, intellectual deficits etc in the course title/description which would mean you should only have to take 3 classes at most to add MS .

Does anyone know how hard it is to get hired as an administrator? I saw a lot of positions available in January on USAJobs but did not apply. I feel like I would rather get in as a teacher but if I hear nothing this year then I would apply for a principal position next winter.
Are there a lot of openings each year? Is it hard to get in?
For good or bad, I believe that your application also includes an essay (and possibly an interview) that gets rated and that rating goes a long way to increasing or decreasing your odds of being hired. I heard of this from an AP trying to move to principal but they said that it is basically the some for an external candidate.

After receiving about 8 referrals from Japan in the last week or so, I was thrilled to receive an INTERVIEW request in Europe today!! Does anyone have information about Lakenheath?

If you are elementary and haven't received referrals, I would do what it takes to add Kindergarten and PreK if you don't already have it. That will set you apart from the others, and there were a lot of Kinder openings in the transfer round.

On 3/23/17, TeacherMama722 w...See MoreCongrats! This happened to me and I was told that HQ does not allow us to get multiple offers. Whichever school submits their selection first gets you and the other cannot make an offer. Take the Japan interview if it comes but just know that the first to jump gets you and you don't get to choose. Best of luck.

In general, as soon as they consider you for a position, your file is supposed to be deactivated which would mean that other principals can no longer put you onto a referral, submit you to HR for an offer etc.
I guess that there is a slim possibility that the timing could work out so that you have two valid offers on your plate but you are probably better off playing the lottery :D

Someone at the school often facilitates virtual classes (like the Information Specialist, a, Asst. Principal) but they are basically just monitoring behavior and giving out test codes and not teaching the class.

Yes, Biology is generally a heavily subscribed class. Some relatively small schools have 3 teachers each teaching a few Bio classes so it could be a helpful cert to add.
I am an internal applicant and have recently added some areas of endorsement to my state license. Unfortunately DODEA has different requirements that I will not be able to fulfill. For this reason, some areas on my application result as 'not qualified'. I've spoken to HR and they've said that they cannot remove these areas from my application. I've read on a previous post that this may cause for it to be overlooked. Can someone confirm this? I have several other areas of endorsement for which I DID qualify. I am also using spousal preference and LWOP, if that makes a difference.
I still have unqualified areas on my application from back when we first applied and didn't understand how things worked (and it didn't seem to hurt my chances).
