Where has everyone gotten referrals from? Just like my question on interviews, I'm trying to gauge/ get an idea as to where/who has gotten referrals yet. I've gotten them from Daegu, Ikego, and McCool.
happyteacherBased on haha's logic (which is likely the case) you'd think Europe would want to start recruiting at the same time to get the best teachers!
It is so early in the season so I'm trying not to get worried, but has anyone gotten a referral for any sciences yet? I had hoped with the transfer rounds being completed so early this year that we'd hear something earlier as well. Anyone?
This is my 7th year applying for a position with DoDEA, I have never received a referral for an overseas position. I have had a few for some stateside school and even a job offer for a school in PR. Which I turned down. Holding out for Okinawa, Japan, or Korea.
happyteacherIdeally they would count for both as long as the title or description has severe or intellectual disabilities in it. I'd just start googling online special Ed classes.
hahaAs teach said, they should work for both if the title and description is similar to most SPED courses like that. Try Grand Canyon. I got my Master in SPED (plus a few more course) through them and it was all online.
Does anyone know where in the application does it show if one's application is active or inactive? or any kind of status? I have looked everywhere and cannot seem to find anything. TIA
hahaWhen you login click on application and look in the upper left hand corner. If your file is inactive because they are considering you for a position it will say something like: "The DoDEA staff is currently processing your application. You will be unable to make changes at this time. "
I'm only certified in SPED with DoDEA. Has anyone heard of any openings in the Pacific that aren't' being filled with transfers? We would go anywhere in the Pacific. Especially Guam or Korea.
Just wanted to extend my sincere thanks to haha & teach for their wise counsel. I was just rated fully qualified for MS/HS ESL. Hopefully, ESL/Social Studies/Humanities will boost my chances at least enough to get a referral. Well, at least it certainly can't hurt! Thanks again!
Today seems to be a slow day for referrals.... I had at least one a day, Wednesday-Friday of last week. Maybe it's because of the Japan interdistrict transfer? Anyone else receive any referrals today?
Have any SPED teachers received any EI referrals? I'm curious because there were some interesting EI positions/combos in the transfer round that could have left holes elsewhere (or gone unfilled).
