My husband is interested in applying for a teaching position overseas on an Italian military base, and we were wondering the average wait time people have gone through from submitting an application to an official offer? I realize there are many determining factors, but we are interested in hearing peoples experience with the process.
IdaSome people apply and get hired the first year they apply. Others apply and never even get an interview. Particularly if you are looking at only one location (Italy), it might take longer. It might not.
My wife is a Japanese National but she is a Permanent Resident Alien of the US (she's had her green card for about 17 years). My kids are both US and Japanese citizens. How does this work out when I submit our application for our passport and visas to Italy?
There will be additional paperwork and a visa fee for your wife.
Call the Passport office at HQ to get the latest version of the application. Be very clear that your wife is a third country national. You may have to remind them two or three times.
Hold your tongue if they tell you that they are unsure, or that they don't know the amount of the fee, or that things are changing too quickly to stay up to date.
BubbleHead711HR's response to additional paper work for Japanese National spouse. No, she will just apply for the Visa with the passport that she has from Japan along with her green card. She will not need to apply for the official (military) passport.
I had an interview but two of my references, the ones I had on the application, are out of town. Should I email the interviewer with additional references?
hahaStill waiting. Last year the principal told me how much I was going to get before school ended and said it would take a while to show up in my check.
hahaTough to say. A fair amount of people have reported getting referrals etc, during the year, even though their availability was set to the following school year, etc.
I just received an email that I was referred to an administrator for a potential interview. The job is one that I really want, so I wondering if it would be considered too forward if I contacted the administrator to express my sincere interest in the position even though I haven't been offered an interview yet?
HelpOthersThere could be 100 people on that referral list. USA Jobs pushes all qualified people into a referral list. If you have not been asked to interview, e-mailing may not help. Also, the interviews may be done through the superintendent's office.
Does anyone know of an online school that has moderate/ severe credit classes, as I need 12 more semester hours to be certified for moderate/severe disabilities.
TeachUSF has a certificate program. They're few and far between. You may have to piece together credits from multiple colleges to add it on. I've been looking to add it for years and keep running into the same issue.
I received an email stating that I was referred to a hiring official. The job is one that I really want. Would it be considered rude if I reached out to the hiring administrator to express my deep interest in the job, even before I get an interview?
So I just got an email that stated I was placed on a referral list for a position that I really want. Would it be inappropriate to contact the principal stating my sincere interest in the position before I am even called for an interview
