CHRA can be sticklers to the job description. So that's a hard one. They will most likely look to see if you meet all the requirements (including already being in the agency). However, you might be in luck if there aren't any other candidates.

Having no dependents could work to you advantage! I saw that there was an internal posting for that job, and I would love to go to Bahrain. But I have three dependents.

Apparently there are dependents of government employees (e.g. diplomatic, military command, other civilians?) that will still be allowed to bring dependents. Between those (and locals who are allowed/pay to attend, it is not expected for the school to close. I just got a tentative offer this week and I'm currently doing my paperwork. However, I didn't get a fingerprint or physical form request yet. When will I get that because I already got my benefits, passport, and background check paperwork?

You need the prepaid envelope to mail it to the right place, and they were very clear you needed the right form. If i were you I would just check on when they are open and if you need an appointment. The digital live scan was offered off base at different places but they were all booked through August!

About how much money should someone have saved to cover expenses for an overseas move? Are any expenses covered by DoDEA upfront or are most reimbursed at a later time? Any input would be helpful. Thank you!

Actually, I think Guam is joining Pac West, but is still treated as the American Territory it is, so no LQA.

Spanish is taught in every Secondary school (and some MS). So, every high school will have at least one position. It used to be taught at elementary but they discontinued the program.

Thank you, Someone mentioned that Spanish was a certification that many had, and not very much required. I just hope my the ESL paperwork goes thru quicly. Pandemeic and slow burocracy. Thank you for the info.

The hours you work are base don your hub, however you would be supporting DoDEA students all over the world, not just your hub. I don't know why, but some classes are only supported by certain hubs. I had students who had teachers in Europe and the US, yet we are in Japan (which by the way has its own hub in Okinawa).

The only thing that the masters +30 will help with is determining your actual salary after you are selected. I also do not think that it would be a deciding factor on whether or not you are selected over another candidate with a master's degree.

Thanks you guys! I was feeling the same about the technicality of it not mattering, but uneasy about technology shooting out a referral list based on edu levels and certs. Thought I may have shot myself in the foot for past opportunities.

Thanks everyone. With the protests and virus things aresuper unpredictable right now. Our realtor said we should put in our contract that it was contingent upon me receiving the orders and then also ask for 60 days if necessary. Houses in this market typically sell in 3 days with 45 day closings!
