I read that Korea and Bahrain are sometimes hard to fill vacancies and that checking them off your location list might be helpful to land a referral or interview. I was curious if the same could be said for Japan?
hahaThe same could be said about "mainland" Japan. A good number of schools and many teachers preferring/wanting to be at one of the three bases in the Tokyo/Yokohama area, which often leaves openings at the other schools/complexes.
I just realized that while I stated that I was going to submit the "experience form" for pay, I have not printed it out and given it to my employer. Will this render my application "incomplete" so that it will not be considered? Thanks.
hahaAgree. It is helpful to get them completed so that you have them (especially from previous employers) but you generally will not need to submit them unless you are hired.
It looks as if the EAS system is still down. It makes it a little difficult to meet the deadline of February 26th to update everything for the new school year. Any word of when it will be fixed?
IcanreadFor the virtual school, you must live in or move to the area where the hub you are hired for is located. The Hubs are in Virginia (I believe), Okinawa, and Germany. You are not able to work remotely from anywhere.
Hi Everyone. Does the DODEA contact previous employers? Or just your references and the supervisor for your current position? I'm asking because out of my ten years of teaching experience, I had one really tough year. Thoughts?
hahaTechnically, they can contact anyone. In practice, it probably varies quite a bit. I don't they even contacted my then current supervisor because we were living overseas.
Maybe someone hired more recently has a better handle on how far back they went.
Job-related training courses (give title and year). Job-related skills (other languages, computer software/hardware, tools, machinery, typing speed, etc. Job-related certificates and licenses (current only). Job-related honors, awards, and special accomplishments (publications, memberships in professional/honor societies, leadership activities, public speaking, and performance awards.) Give dates, but do not send documents unless requested.
MissamyThank you @haha. I had a similar question. I posted my resume in the documents section under "other." I thought it was weird to not ask for a resume.

The EAS website says, "after submission please check the status module for required supplemental material" where is the status module? I checked in FAQ and didn't see it. Thanks.
SodaMaybe the "Quals" tab? That's where it states if you are qualified/not qualified, pending, or requires more information. I'm not sure what else it would be.
