I think I may be on the verge of getting an offer (I interviewed for 2 of 4 positions I received requests for- 1 I think I missed the interview window because I was out of the country and my voicemail was not functioning in Spain) Anyway, the person handling my file at HR has been sending me lots of emails requesting that I get my verification of experience and have my professional evaluations sent in because it looks like they're doing a deep background check and she seems urgent- I have worked for 3 different districts over the past 12 years and this is quite the headache because 2 are out of state, and one of my former supervisors doesn't even work at my old district anymore. I am a bit nervous that my potential offer of employment may rest in the hands of my current and former districts completing the necessary forms properly and in a timely manner. haha No worries. I don't claim to be an expert, never actually having had a spouse go through the entire process of being hired in either country. As I said, you hear about people you know (and know of) working on the economy but don't necessarily know all of the details and/or how common or easy it really is to arrange.

EmilyG I am an SLP, and I interviewed for a couple of jobs in Germany- Stuttgart & Sembach. I missed the interview window for one at Ramstein b/c of not being able to access my voicemail in Spain, but hope they found someone awesome.... which they probably did, because SLPs are awesome. Redclover711 It sounds as though you received a tentative offer and must fill out the background information and update some missing information so they can complete your in-processing and give you your firm offer. Does it say which job it is for? Usually in the tentative offer it will give you that info. Since SLPs are more challenging positions to fill, both ...See More

EmilyG I am assuming it is for the job in Stuttgart, because HR keeps cc'ing the principal on all the emails that they send to me.
