Hi, Is there a age cut off point for teachers that want to work for DODD aboard?
haha I don't believe so. I would figure that you would be protected under The Age Discrimination in Employment Act, among other things.

And in practice, a fair amount of teachers either join DoDEA late in their careers (sometimes after retiring from a stateside district) and/or stay with DoDEA until VERY late in their careers.

HelpOthers There is not an age limit for hiring. I know there is for other federal and state department jobs, but not for DoDEA.

Joe Wachs Just a follow up to Chantal's question. I am currently teaching at an American International school. I do know that some countries has age limits in order to get a work visa. I dont't know if this is an issue with DoD or if they have agreements that supersede that policy?

haha DoDEA generally has Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA) which cover active duty military and related mission required personnel when assigned to another country.
