I have submitted an application for 2019-2020 school year for a secondary English position. Background: I worked as a para in Okinawa for 2015-2016 school year and loved it so much I enrolled in a transition to teaching program. I left the island after my husband received new orders, completed my student teaching, and my first year of teaching. By next school year, I will be done with year two. I have multiple contacts to reach out to, but for you experienced folks, when would be the most appropriate time to do so? I feel it's a little too early at this point in time? Is there any hope for a newer teacher?

haha There really is no right or wrong answer. Two years is pretty much the minimum amount of experience that DoDEA is looking for in a teacher. They have hired teachers with two years (or even less) before but generally will look for more experienced teachers if one is available (and there generally are).

HelpOthers Having great references from your principal in your DoDEA school may help, along with great references from your current principals. Make sure you have taken all the required coursework. Some transition to teaching programs don't require the same number or level of classes DoDEA requires. If yours did, that is wonderful.

HelpOthers If you know your principal's old e-mail address, you could try that with the am.dodea.edu, pac.dodea.edu, and eu.dodea.edu endings to see if any of the e-mail addresses go through.
