I absolutely love everything I've read and heard about Japan but I'm hesitant about the earthquakes and tsunamis! For those if you who live/lived there, are they pretty dangerous or more tolerable?

Educate Thanks! Pretty much just heavy wind where I live, not much else. But the lifestyle looks much better in Japan than where I live :)

haha Agree. We have lived in Japan for a total of 8 years or so. The worst we have ever experienced is a few tremors/mild earthquakes that were over in seconds and didn't even knock anything off of a shelf (knock on wood). Icanread While there are earthquakes and typhoons here in Okinawa, the difference between here and the states is that they build the houses to withstand natural disasters. HelpOthers Our larger windows and glass doors have easy to open and close storm shutters. Most people use them daily for privacy reasons and they are great for typhoons (similar to hurricanes in the USA). The earthquakes are rarely felt and when they are, the house just sort of rocks.
