Hello. I am currently listed as a CIS major. I have been working on computers for the past--I don't know, ten years or more. I recently discovered that I am permanently losing my vision. I would like to stay in the computer field so I thought I could become an instructor instead, for both seeing and visually impaired students. I could use some guidance on how exactly I can go about this. I have attempted to contact the heads of our departments to ask them; but I presume they must be very busy at this time or something. Thank you
CTJS I am sorry that this is happening to you.

The qualifications for teachers of computers vary from state to state. I would go to the website for your state department of education. They may also have information about teaching students with sight impairment.
