Hey Everyone, I'm looking for some serious help here. I recently got hired as a computer teacher for a K-8 school. I have a tech background and have worked with youth before but never as an actual teacher. I was originally told that there was already a curriculum in place but to everyone's surprise, including the principle, there wasn't one. Does anyone have any recommendations for one? I know we already have typing software but that's it. Any other information on what to teach to each grade, or things of that nature, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Ben

There is no curriculum, no books, I dont know the passwords for the computers, former teacher is on vacation and not answering facebook messages.

Brittany DeBolt I was in the same position 4 years ago. I was social studies and now teach 7th and 8th grade computers. You basically have to figure it out for yourself. I've never found anything online to help and am still looking for guidance! I do 1-2 weeks of keyboarding and timed typing tests thereafter as bellringers. They have to do 3 one minute tests and f...See More

The Resourceful Teacher I know your question here was from a while ago, but I have some resources that might be beneficial to you. I came across this same problem when I was hired a couple years ago to teach computers. I ended up creating my own curriculum. If you're still in need of resources, you can view them by clicking this link [link removed]
