This past fall I initiated interest in a masters with type 75 cohort program (starting April 09) that initially had no GRE requirement. The University asserted that the GRE was a requirement (though wan't in the past) about 6 weeks ago and suggested that the winter break was a good time to take the GRE. Three days ago the Univ. emailed all those interested in the cohort and stipulated that the GRE isn't required for this cohort. I, and at least 6 others, have taken the GRE in the interim. I kept, and printed, all correspondence (emails) regarding this issue.

For those not familar with the GRE: it costs $140, expends three hours of your time taking the test, and required an hour drive to a "Prometrics-Sylvan Center" for most of us interested in this particular cohort.

$140 is a lot of money to my family since my spouse doesn't work because of an injury (no disability with 3 children). I was wondering if it is unprofessional to request the University to reimburse the $...See More
