I am about to be certified in secondary social studies and will be looking for a job when I am done with my student teaching after this fall. I am not tied to any area in the United States and am willing to go anywhere and look anywhere for a teaching position.

In your opinion, what are the top ten states to teach in? (If you can't think of ten, just your top states then)

And what are your top ten hardest states to find a job?

Jarod HM Secondary social studies is a tough area in which to find a job. California and New York are going to be hard to find a job, especially if you are coming form out of state since you will need to take tests and addition workshops or classes to get a license or cert in those states. Carolina Teacher I've read that Clark County in Las Vegas is ALWAYS looking for teachers since they're growing so much.
